Paczki? 

Tradition has it that Paczki are eaten on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. This day of celebrating by making Paczki was for the reason of using up all the lard, eggs, sugar and fruit in the house, because they were forbidden to be consumed due to Catholic Fasting practices during Lent.

The Paczki may resemble a bismark or jelly donut but they are actually made from an especially rich dough containing eggs, fats and sugar. They are filled with a variety of fruit and cream fillings and are coated with powdered sugar or dipped in icing.
